About Nancy Ogonje
Nancy Ogonje is the Executive Director of the East African Wild Life Society (EAWLS) and Secretary to the Board. With over 23 years of experience, she is a passionate advocate for wildlife and habitat conservation, leading EAWLS in promoting biodiversity protection and shared responsibility for the planet’s future.
In March 2025, Nancy was elected President of the Consortium for the Conservation of the Coastal and Marine Ecosystems in the Western Indian Ocean (WIO-C), reflecting her growing regional influence in environmental leadership.

Established in 2007, WIO-C promotes conservation, poverty reduction, and sustainable livelihoods in the Western Indian Ocean region.
